Here is a look at some of the lessons I have planned, prepared and taught over the past several years. I strive to create lessons that are informative, engaging and fun for my students. Along with each lesson description I have included a link to the full lesson plan.
RICHMOND PUBLIC SCHOOL
Grade 2
I was placed in a Grade 2 class at Richmond Public School for my first CSL and practicum placement. Here, I had the opportunity to establish strong relationships with my associate teacher and Year 2 teacher candidate that contributed to my development as a teacher. I got involved in the school community by co-running and intramural sports program for Grade 4/5 students. In my Grade 2 classroom I had the opportunity to independently plan, prepare and teach units and lessons in a number of subject areas. I taught units and lessons in media literacy, science, art, physical education and health and safety. By far, the highlight of this experience was the relationships I built with my amazing Grade 2 students.
CHAPMAN MILLS PUBLIC SCHOOL
Grade 6
For my second year practicum, I was placed in a Grade 6 classroom at Chapman Mills Public School. Here, I had the opportunity to collaborate with an amazing teaching team of Grade 5 and 6 teachers as well as other student teachers. In my Grade 6 classroom, I had the opportunity to independently plan and teach lessons and units in almost all subject areas. I taught full units in science, math and language as well as teaching a number of lessons in health, physical education and visual art. I taught full-time during my practicum and gained experience teaching both virtually and in the classroom. Best of all, I got to work with an incredible group of students.
