Hello! I'm Ms. Bregg.
My name is Ariana Bregg and I am a teacher candidate in the Primary/Junior division at the University of Ottawa graduating in April 2021. I have been passionate about teaching for as long as I can remember and am excited about finally reaching my goal. Here you can learn more about me and my journey into teaching!

2014
This is me at 17 years old, working with a senior kindergarten student as a part of my high school co-op placement. This experience affirmed my passion and set me on a path to becoming a teacher!
2019
This is me with my fellow student teacher in my first semester of the B.Ed Program. This picture was taken in my Grade 2 placement class at Richmond Public School, where I had an amazing experience growing and improving my practise with the support of a wonderful teaching team.
2021
Here I am in my final semester of the B.Ed program! Although I did not expect my experience as a student teacher to look quite like this, I had an amazing year with my Grade 6 students and the teaching team at Chapman Mills Public School!
Education
Bachelor of Education (University of Ottawa) I am currently in my second (and final) year of the teacher education program of University of Ottawa. Here, I took a number of courses and professional development workshops that contributed to my development as a teacher.
Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree (Carleton University): In June 2019, I graduated from Carleton University in with a major in Psychology and a concentration in Developmental Psychology. During my undergraduate degree, I had the chance to volunteer in the Child Language and Literacy Lab at Carleton University. My work in the research lab gave me the opportunity to learn more about a topic I am passionate about – children’s language and literacy development.

Teaching Experience
Practicum Placements: I completed two practicum placements during my time at uOttawa. The first was in a Grade 2 class at Richmond Public School. The second was in a Grade 6 class at Chapman Mills Public School. I had great experiences in both of my placements and was able to build positive relationships with my students. Both placements gave me hands-on experience developing and teaching engaging lessons to meet a wide variety of student needs.
Drawing Teacher: I worked as a drawing teacher with Young Rembrandts from 2017 to 2020. While working as a drawing teacher, I gained experience teaching groups of 5 to 20 students from ages 4 to 12. I taught drawing lessons while incorporating fundamental art skills and terminology. Working for Young Rembrandts has also let me share my love of art with students, which I have continued to do in my placement classroom.
Classroom Volunteer: I volunteered with Grade 1 classes at Briargreen Public School over several years. Here, I supported students one-on-one and led multiple reading groups. I followed the teachers’ guidelines to formulate lesson plans for the reading groups and practiced teaching small groups to help them develop their literacy skills.

Interests
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, music, art, cooking, running and taking care of my house plants.
